How we started

Billion To One reached us in 2020 to build a web portal for communication and data transfer. As a genetic testing company, Billion To One works with multiple clinics across the US and requires a high level of security and precision in data management — and they engaged us to ensure it.

In the first stage, we focused on 3 core objectives:
  • Automate the communication between laboratories and the Billion To One team
  • Reduce document-related manual work and human error
  • Streamline internal medical data management

Why Billion To One chose us

We started our cooperation on October 2020, when Billion To One was already backed by Y Combinator and had a working platform, to bring data management to the next level.

While introducing an innovative approach to genetic testing, Billion To One experienced issues with the speed of document management and error rates, and needed a vendor able to dig into the Django-based platform and transform their manual process into a streamlined digital flow.

Before starting our cooperation with Billion To One, we’ve already helped US healthcare companies like Haystack Intelligence and Surfacide, and had vast experience dealing with the US market specifics. To help Billion To One efficiently, we also obtained HIPAA certifications for every team member.

What helps Billion To One to innovate the industry.

Streamlined and error-free documentation management

Billion To One cooperates with multiple clinics across the US and provides advanced genetic testing solutions, focusing mainly on prenatal screening and liquid biopsy. Before the transformation, the process was slowed down by dealing with lots of handwritten data, missing info, errors, and the need to communicate on testing status manually.

To accelerate the flow and eliminate errors in communication with clinics, we’ve designed an application that processes data from Billion To One’s Salesforce, and introduces easy-to-use interfaces to search for, filter, process, and manage the information.

With this application, we’ve built a solid foundation for Billion To One to implement features that:

  • Accelerate the data processing
  • Automate the testing status communication
  • Introduce a scalable framework for cooperation with clinics
  • Store and process the data in one place
